Saving our Sea

Today we were visited by Olliver from Sustainable Coastlines. He talked about his job as an Oceanographer and his mission to try and clean up our sea. He showed us pictures of rubbish that had washed up on a deserted island and the tiny plastic particles that fish eat thinking it's food.

Inspired by his talk, we focused our writing today on Saving Our Sea. The message is to pick up litter and put it in the rubbish and to clean up our beaches. Room 3 was very passionate about this. Keep an eye out for some of our published pieces of writing in the next few days.

Olliver and his friends from Sustainable Coastlines will be at Fitzroy beach every afternoon after school this week, cleaning up the beach and handing out spot prizes. All children and parents are invited to pop down and say hi. Let me know if you make it down there to help.
